Student Success Network (SSN)
Student Success Network (SSN) is a community of youth-facing organizations strengthening our collective capacity to improve postsecondary outcomes in NYC. Founded in 2013 by the leaders of 15 education and youth development organizations, the Network was built on a shared understanding that all organizations could serve students more effectively by aligning around shared goals and measures, co-learning about promising practices and approaches, and strengthening connection and coordination between organizations and practitioners.

A backbone team anchors the Network and carries out the following activities:

Identifies shared program and practice improvement priorities, goals, and measures; Facilitates spaces to increase understanding of factors that impact improvement priorities; Organizes “improvement cohorts” to test and measure innovative practices to improve shared goals; Codifies and scales practices and measures that work, throughout the Network and with external partners; Strengthens connection with a diverse group of stakeholders to support a more coordinated and collaborative ecosystem.

Currently, our Network is mobilizing to address core barriers to improving outcomes that support equitable access to high-quality careers, starting with a lack of clear, transparent, and aligned language and measures for the skills and knowledge young people need to be ready for their futures.
